CORRECTIONS POLICY
Legal Paath Research | A Part of Legal Paath Coaching
Founded by Rajveer Singh, Jaya Mishra and Vansikha Garg

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

INTRODUCTION

At Legal Paath Research, a proud part of Legal
Paath Coaching, we are absolutely committed to
publishing accurate, verified and reliable legal
information at all times. We understand that in
the field of law, accuracy is not merely important
— it is essential. Incorrect legal information can
mislead law students, adversely affect the
examination preparation of judiciary aspirants,
create confusion about the correct state of the
law and potentially harm the legal understanding
of practicing lawyers and government law employees
who rely on our platform for their daily legal
updates and continuing legal education.

Legal Paath Coaching was founded by Rajveer Singh,
Jaya Mishra and Vansikha Garg with an unwavering
commitment to accuracy and integrity in legal
education. This Corrections Policy sets out in
clear and transparent detail exactly how Legal
Paath Research identifies errors in its published
content, how we address those errors, how we
communicate corrections to our readers and
community and how we work to prevent similar
errors from occurring in future.

We believe that a transparent and robust
corrections policy is one of the most important
indicators of editorial integrity and public
accountability. We are proud to publicly commit
to the highest standards of accuracy and to
the prompt and transparent correction of any
errors that may occur in our content despite
our best efforts to prevent them.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

OUR COMMITMENT TO ACCURACY

Before setting out our corrections
procedure it is important to explain
the extensive steps we take to ensure
the accuracy of everything we publish
on Legal Paath Research:

All judgments published on Legal Paath
Research are sourced directly from
official court websites including the
Supreme Court of India website at
sci.gov.in and the official websites
of respective High Courts across India.
We never publish judgment summaries
based on secondary sources alone.

All legal provisions, section numbers
and statutory references published on
Legal Paath Research are verified
against official bare acts and official
gazette notifications before publication.
We never publish legal provisions from
memory or from unverified secondary
sources.

All content published on Legal Paath
Research goes through a thorough
multi step editorial review process
before publication involving our
qualified legal writers, editors and
senior editorial team.

All case citations published on Legal
Paath Research are verified for
accuracy including the correct case
name, the correct year, the correct
court and the correct citation number.

Despite these extensive precautions
we acknowledge that errors can
occasionally occur in any publication
and we are fully committed to
addressing any such errors promptly,
transparently and without hesitation
when they are identified.

TYPES OF ERRORS AND HOW WE ADDRESS THEM

Legal Paath Research classifies errors
in our published content into three
categories based on their nature and
severity. Each category of error is
addressed through a specific and
appropriate corrections procedure:

CATEGORY 1 — MINOR ERRORS

Definition

Minor errors are errors that do not
affect the legal substance, accuracy
or integrity of the content in any
significant way. Minor errors include
spelling mistakes, grammatical errors,
typographical errors, punctuation
errors, formatting issues and minor
stylistic inaccuracies that do not
mislead readers about any legal
matter.

Correction Procedure

Minor errors are corrected immediately
upon discovery or upon being reported
to us by a reader. Minor errors are
corrected silently without a formal
correction notice being added to the
article as they do not affect the
legal substance of the content.
However we maintain an internal
record of all corrections made
including minor corrections for
our own quality control purposes.

CATEGORY 2 — FACTUAL ERRORS

Definition

Factual errors are errors that affect
the factual accuracy of our legal
content but do not fundamentally
change the overall legal analysis
or conclusion presented in the
article. Factual errors include
incorrect section numbers, wrong
case citations, inaccurate dates
of judgments, incorrect names of
parties in cases, wrong court
details, incorrect punishment
provisions, inaccurate descriptions
of legal procedures and similar
factual inaccuracies.

Correction Procedure

When a factual error is identified
in any of our published content
whether by our own team or reported
by a reader we follow this correction
procedure:

The error is reviewed and verified
by our senior editorial team within
48 hours of identification or receipt
of error report.

If the error is confirmed the article
is immediately updated with the
correct information.

A clear and prominent correction
notice is added at the top of the
corrected article in the following
format:

CORRECTION NOTICE
This article was updated on [Date]
to correct [specific description of
what was incorrect]. The correct
information is [correct information].
We apologize for the error and thank
[name of person who reported the
error if reported by a reader] for
bringing this to our attention.

The date on which the correction
was made is clearly noted in the
correction notice.

If the error was reported by a reader
we contact that reader to inform them
that the error has been confirmed
and corrected and to thank them for
their valuable contribution to the
accuracy of our content.

We maintain a permanent internal
record of all factual corrections
made to our content including the
nature of the error, the correction
made and the date of correction.

CATEGORY 3 — SERIOUS ERRORS

Definition

Serious errors are significant errors
that fundamentally affect the legal
accuracy or integrity of our content
and that could substantially mislead
readers about the law, a judgment,
a legal principle or any other
significant legal matter. Serious
errors include fundamentally incorrect
legal analyses, significantly wrong
descriptions of the outcome or
reasoning of a judgment, incorrect
statements of established legal
principles, seriously wrong
interpretations of statutory
provisions and any other error
that could substantially mislead
our readers about an important
legal matter.

Correction Procedure

When a serious error is identified
in any of our published content
whether by our own team or reported
by a reader we follow this
comprehensive correction procedure:

The article containing the serious
error is immediately taken down from
Legal Paath Research pending review
and correction. A temporary notice
is placed at the article URL informing
readers that the article has been
temporarily taken down for review
and correction.

The error is reviewed and verified
by our senior editorial team and
founders Rajveer Singh, Jaya Mishra
and Vansikha Garg as a matter of
the highest priority within 24 hours
of identification or receipt of error
report.

If the serious error is confirmed
a full correction article or retraction
notice is published on Legal Paath
Research explaining in clear and
complete detail what the error was,
why it was an error, what the correct
legal information is and what steps
we are taking to prevent similar
errors in future.

The corrected version of the article
is republished with a prominent and
permanent correction notice at the
top of the article clearly explaining
the nature of the error and the
correction that has been made.

If the article containing the serious
error was distributed to our email
subscribers or widely shared on our
social media channels we send a
correction notification to our
email subscribers and publish a
correction notice on all relevant
social media channels to ensure
that everyone who received the
incorrect information is informed
of the correction.

If the error was reported by a reader
we personally contact that reader
to inform them of the outcome of
our review and to sincerely thank
them for their important contribution
to the integrity and accuracy of
our platform.

We conduct a thorough internal
review of our editorial processes
to understand how the serious error
occurred and to implement appropriate
measures to prevent similar errors
from occurring in future.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

RETRACTIONS

In exceptional cases where an article
published on Legal Paath Research
contains errors so fundamental and
serious that the article cannot be
adequately corrected through our
standard corrections procedure we
will issue a full retraction of the
article. A retraction means that the
article is permanently removed from
Legal Paath Research and replaced
with a retraction notice explaining
why the article has been retracted.

Retraction notices on Legal Paath
Research will include the following
information:

The title of the retracted article.
The date on which the article was
originally published. A clear
explanation of the nature of the
errors that necessitated the
retraction. The correct legal
information to replace the retracted
content where applicable. The date
on which the retraction was published.
An acknowledgment and apology to
our readers for the error.

Retraction notices are permanent
and will remain published on Legal
Paath Research indefinitely so that
readers who search for the original
article will be informed that it
has been retracted and why.
